  14. You people who've read the latest press releases can correct me if I'm 
  15. wrong, but from the ones I read, it doesn't seem like much has changed.

  17. I see messages where people are getting all excited about VisCorp, but 
  18. VisCorp's own press releases don't seem to say what these people think 
  19. they do.  VisCorp says that they "licensed" the Amiga technology , not 
  20. that they "bought" the technology.  Apparently, VisCom has been trying to 
  21. buy the license since Escom first bought it, and in the last year has been 
  22. making set top box prototypes using the AMiga technology.

  24. But having done so, they can't go into production without a license to use 
  25. the technology, and that is what they just bought from Escom/Amiga 
  26. Technologies for, what $60 million or something?

  28. visCorp's press release that I read didn't say much about producing "high 
  29. end " Amigas, they don't seem to be interested in that.

  31. Escom's message seems to say that they didn't actually "sell" Amiga 
  32. Technologies, and that AT will continue to make the new Amigas.  Of 
  33. course, will any of those make it out of Europe? and will any of them be 
  34. NTSC? are the questions that remain to be answered.

  36. Granted, the former Commodore employees who now work for VC would like to 
  37. see production of new Amigas, but are these the guys who make those 
  38. corporate decisions for VisCorp?, or do they just work there?

  40. Seems to me that Escom is a clone maker, and AT is an Amiga-for-Europe 
  41. maker, and VC is a set top box maker, and nobody is going to see any new 
  42. Amigas to replace the 4000 in this country for quite awhile.

  45. to here it.
